Military Service

I served in the United States Navy from 2017 to 2021 after joining shortly after graduating high school. Over four years, I completed three deployments, served aboard two ships, and developed discipline, accountability, and technical skills that continue to shape my professional path today.

United States Navy

I served as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician, working in engineering spaces where attention to detail, safety, communication, and reliability mattered every day. My work involved technical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, log taking, documentation, and following established procedures in demanding environments.

Although my Navy role was not directly an IT role, it built a strong foundation in technical discipline, problem solving, teamwork, and operating under pressure. Those skills continue to carry over into my education, technical work, and career goals.

Ships & Duty Stations

USS Oak Hill (LSD-51)

Served approximately 2.5 years while stationed in Little Creek, Virginia. This was my first ship and where I gained much of my early experience working in shipboard engineering spaces.

USS Vella Gulf (CG-72)

Served approximately 1.5 years while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. I continued working in engineering operations and completed my final deployment before separating from active duty.
